that the proof of your faith, much more precious than gold which perisheth, but is tried with fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the manifestation of Jesus Christ;

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to them that love him.

knowing that the trying of your faith worketh endurance.

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, the Evil One cometh, and snatcheth away that which was sown in his heart; this man is what was sown by the wayside. And what was sown on the rocky places, this is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy, but, having no root within him, endureth only for a time; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth on account of the word, he immediately falleth away. read more.
And what was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

By faith Abraham, when called, obeyed to go forth to a place which he was afterward to receive for an inheritance, and went forth, not knowing whither he was going.

By faith Abraham, when tried, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was offering up his onlybegotten son,

Faith then cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Jesus said to him, If thou art able? All things are possible for him that believeth.

And Jesus said to the centurion, Go thy way; as thou hast believed, so be it done to thee. And the servant was made well in that hour.

Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it done to you. And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly charged them, saying, See that no one know it.

And he said to them, Because of your want of faith. For truly do I say to you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard, ye shall say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it will remove; and nothing will be impossible to you.

Jesus answering said to them, Truly do I say to you, If ye have faith, and do not doubt, not only shall ye do what hath been done to the figtree, but should ye even say to this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it would be done.

Therefore being accepted as righteous through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

and by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

But now, apart from the Law, the righteousness which is of God, to which the Law and the Prophets bear testimony, even the righteousness which is of God through faith in Jesus Christ, hath been made manifest to all and for all believers. For there is no distinction.

We conclude therefore, that a man is accepted as righteous through faith, without the works of the Law.

but knowing that a man is not accepted as righteous by the works of the Law, but by faith in Christ Jesus, we also have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be accepted as righteous by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; for by the works of the Law shall no flesh be accepted as righteous.

for to you it was given in behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but in his behalf to suffer also;

For through the grace given to me I warn every one among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, according to the measure of faith which God hath imparted to each.

For by grace ye have been saved, through faith; and this is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;

Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of everlasting life; and we have believed and known, that thou art the Holy One of God.

And as he was passing along by the lake of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon dragging a net in the lake; for they were fishers. And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will cause you to become fishers of men. And immediately they left their nets, and followed him. read more.
And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets; and immediately he called them. And leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, they went after him.

And when he had done speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into deep water, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing; but at thy word I will let down the nets.

to the end that in Christ Jesus the blessing promised to Abraham might come to the gentiles, that we through faith might receive the Spirit which was promised.

in whom ye also, after having heard the word of truth, the glad tidings of your salvation, in whom, I say, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit that was promised,

And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, that he said, John indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Since then God gave the like gift to them as to us, on believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?

Now the end of the commandment is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned;

if ye indeed continue in the faith grounded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye heard, which hath been preached in the whole creation under heaven; of which I Paul became a minister.

For the Scripture saith, "Whoever believeth in him shall not be put to shame."

But Jesus hearing this, answered him, Fear not; only believe, and she will be made well.

And lo! two blind men, who were sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Have pity on us, Son of David! And the multitude sharply bade them be silent. But they cried out the more, saying, Lord, have pity on us, Son of David! And Jesus stopped, and called them, and said, What would ye have me do for you? read more.

For he had confident hope in that which was past hope, that he should become a father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, "Thus shall thy offspring be;" and not being weak in faith, he regarded not his own body which had become dead, he being about a hundred years old, nor the deadness of Sarahs womb; nor did he waver in respect to the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; read more.

And when they had come to the multitude, there came to him a man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have compassion on my son; for he is a lunatic, and is sorely afflicted; for he often falleth into the fire, and often into the water. And coming to the disciples, they saw a great multitude about them, and scribes debating with them. And immediately the whole multitude on seeing him was struck with awe, and running to him, saluted him. And he asked them, About what are ye debating with them? read more.

And uttering a cry, and convulsing him much, it came out of him. And he became as one dead; so that very many said, He is dead. But Jesus, taking hold of his hand, raised him, and he stood up. And when he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast it out? And he said to them, This kind can go out by nothing, except by prayer.

And when he had gone on board the boat, his disciples followed him. And, lo! a great tempest arose on the lake, so that the boat was almost covered by the waves; but he was sleeping. And they came and awoke him, saying, Lord, save! we are perishing. read more.

So also faith, if it hath not works, is dead in itself.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is idle?

choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the recompense of reward. when I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that it dwelleth in thee also.

And all things whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye will receive.

But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting; for he that doubteth is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.

And, lo! a woman of Canaan came out from those borders, and cried out, saying, Have compassion on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is grievously afflicted with a demon. But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying Send her away, for she is crying out after us. And she said, Yea, Lord; for the little dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from the table of their masters. Then Jesus answering said to her, O woman, great is thy faith; be it done to thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was cured from that hour.

But a woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, immediately hearing of him, came in, and fell at his feet. The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast out the demon from her daughter. And he said to her, Let the children be filled first; for it is not well to take the childrens bread and throw it to the little dogs. read more.

testifying to both Jews and Greeks repentance toward God, and faith in our Lord Jesus.

to open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among the sanctified, by faith in me.

and made no difference between us and them, having purified their hearts by faith.

[saying,] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.

and that repentance for the remission of sins should be preached in his name among all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with those who disobeyed, after having received the spies with peace.

But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become children of God,to those who believed in his name;

He that believeth in me, from within him, as the Scripture hath said, will flow rivers of living water.

And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received the word of God which ye heard from us, ye received it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also is powerfully working in you that believe.

remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and perseverance in the hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father;

By faith Abraham, when called, obeyed to go forth to a place which he was afterward to receive for an inheritance, and went forth, not knowing whither he was going.

And Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians upon hearing believed, and were baptized.

Whether, then, it were I or they, thus we preach, and thus ye believed.

to another faith, by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing, by the one Spirit;

Try yourselves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, that Christ Jesus is in you, unless ye are unapproved?

By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau even concerning things to come.

By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with those who disobeyed, after having received the spies with peace.

And Simon Peter answering said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith;

But ye do not believe, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;

Was not Abraham our father accepted as righteous through works, when he offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness;" and he was called the friend of God. read more.
Ye see that by works a man is accounted as righteous, and not by faith only. And in like manner was not also Rahab the harlot accounted as righteous through works, when she received the messengers, and sent them out another way?

For being ignorant of the righteousness which is of God, and endeavoring to establish a righteousness of their own, they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness which is of God. For Christ is the end of the Law, so that every one that believeth may obtain righteousness.

wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a short time, if need be, made sorrowful by manifold trials, that the proof of your faith, much more precious than gold which perisheth, but is tried with fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the manifestation of Jesus Christ;

These all died in faith, not having received the promised blessings, but having seen them from afar, and greeted them, and having professed that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth.

And lo! men brought on a bed a man that was palsied; and they endeavored to bring him in, and to set him before him. And not finding any way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with the couch into the midst before Jesus.

But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
